It's important when working with file transfer (SFTP/FTP) that users only have access to the files and folders that they need. To do this within Couchdrop, you need to set the root path per each user.
Root Path
The root path for the user begins with the storage mount point, this is the path where you mounted your storage, and then the remainder of the path to access the folder.
For example, if we mounted our SharePoint at '/sharepoint' and the folder we would like a user to access is in the directory CompanyA -> Finance -> FY20, then the path would be: "/sharepoint/CompanyA/Finance/FY20"
How to lockdown specific users
Navigate to your users dashboard
Head to your user dashboard within the Couchdrop interface.
Select users
You can now either create a new users, or select an existing user. To edit an existing user, simply click on the users Username or to create a new user click Add User
Edit the Root Directory
Once in the users configuration you will need to amend Root Directory with the path you would like the user to have access to. For this scenario, the storage is mounted at the root (it will look like '/' within the mount point) and the path we are restricting the user to is '/clients/alphacompany'
Save Settings
Once done, all you need to do is Save Settings at the bottom of the page and this will be applied immediately.
