On top of setting read/write permissions on specific folders, with Couchdrop you can also apply more granular permissions to folders within the users root directory. This is useful for when you want a user to see some folders, but not others, or to have read access to one folder, but read/write to another.
Note: If you enable the advanced permissions and do not set access by default it is an explicit deny.
To configure advanced permissions, locate the folder you would like to apply the permissions to, then click on the ellipse and navigate to properties.
Enable advanced permissions functionality by clicking here where it states.
You can now add new permission
Select a user from the drop down menu and then select the permissions they should have on this folder, when ready click save.
Permission | Definition |
List Contents | When this is disabled the user cannot see the folder or be able to list its contents. |
Get Properties | If enabled the user can access properties from the session. |
Delete | If enabled the user has the ability to delete data within the location. |
Upload | If enabled the user can upload data into the location. |
Download | If enabled the user can download data from the location. |
Once you have saved the user and their permissions you will be provided an overview of what users have what permissions on the folder.
